INSIDE 6:AM
Values, Mission, Philosophy
At the core of 6:AM is a dedicated team working closely, driven by the vision and synergy of its two founders, Edoardo Pandolfo and Francesco Palù. With backgrounds in architecture and art, they bring distinct yet complementary perspectives that shape the brand’s identity.
6:AM was founded with a deep respect for Murano’s centuries-old glassmaking tradition, paired with a commitment to reinterpret it through a contemporary lens. This duality defines the brand’s philosophy: a continuous dialogue between past and present, where meticulous craftsmanship meets modern aesthetics.
Each product and project is the result of dedicated research, material sensitivity, and an architectural approach to design. The brand draws inspiration from historical design movements and the broader world of art, while constantly developing new knowledge and techniques. This forward-thinking mindset allows 6:AM to push the boundaries of traditional craftsmanship and imagine new forms for the future.
Rooted in heritage, shaped by innovation, and sustained by a commitment to quality, 6:AM continues to explore what it means to design with purpose, where every object tells a story of vision, study, and enduring beauty.
GLASSMAKING TECHNIQUES
Over time, 6:AM has explored both common and lesser-known glassmaking techniques. Drawing from the deep-rooted knowledge of Murano master glassmakers, who preserve an ancient tradition, the brand approaches the material in its molten state with curiosity and vision—integrating, removing, and combining techniques to push creative boundaries.
The design process begins with the endless possibilities offered by glass as a material. Product development and glassworking techniques evolve together in parallel steps: the shape of an object often depends on how the glass can be worked, and in turn, the design influences the choice of technique. This dynamic dialogue between craftsmanship and design is at the heart of 6:AM’s creative practice.
FLOAT GLASS / RECOVERY MISSION
One of the core values that 6:AM has pursued since the beginning is the ongoing research into how to best use its primary material: glass. At the heart of our design philosophy lies the goal of minimizing material usage wherever possible.
Over the years, this approach has led to several projects focused on reusing reclaimed glass. Among the most significant is FLOAT, a collection of furniture and glass coverings created through a process of material recovery, presented during Milan Design Week 2024. The project originated from a case study in collaboration with Park Associati and culminated in their Resourceful Intelligence installation at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale. This installation applied selective deconstruction and material reuse strategies to demonstrate a circular design approach. 6:AM contributed to the development of a façade composed of reprocessed glass, salvaged from the renovation of Palazzo Missori in Milan, a building currently undergoing refurbishment by Park Associati.
The aim of the FLOAT project is to demonstrate how reclaimed glass can be transformed into new, valuable, and design-forward objects, establishing a parallel transformation chain alongside traditional recycling systems. This process not only shortens production times but also gives discarded materials a second life, enriched with historical significance.
6:AM is committed to continuing this virtuous cycle, reducing the glass lifecycle, transforming reclaimed materials, and imbuing them with new value through thoughtful design. Through this approach, existing glass recovered from construction sites or buildings becomes refined products, furniture, and architectural coverings.
